About Hypnosis

Hypnotherapy/Guided Imagery

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation where you are able to access your subconscious mind to help you create your path toward success. In hypnosis, you are completely open to positive thoughts and suggestions that allow you to replace old behaviors and habits with new ones you desire. Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed state in which you access the most powerful part of your mind, the subconscious. You are in a state of hyper-awareness while in hypnosis. You are in control and are naturally able to come out of the hypnotic state, if you so desire. The state of hypnosis is a normal human experience that we go through naturally on a daily basis.

Guided imagery

The brain learns through images and each word creates an image. It is the natural way the brain processes and accesses information. It allows us to expand and move forward in our life. In fact, we use imagery all of the time. For example, when we worry we are creating in our imagination. Imagery is a right brain activity and right brain activities include the arts, poetry, music and the language of emotions. Imagery goes within and expands without. The depth of involvement goes deeper with imagery and it uses all of the senses plus emotion which allows you to connect with your inner resources.
